Woorim is Bribie Island's ocean-side village, on the island's south-eastern coast facing the Coral Sea, about 4.5 km from Bongaree along First Avenue. The name may come from a Kabi word for the red-backed sea eagle. The heritage-listed Bribie Island Fortifications were built here between 1939 and 1943 as part of Australia's WWII coastal defences.
Around 1,800 people lived in Woorim at the 2021 Census, with a median age of 60.
The local economy. Woorim is a beachside holiday and retirement village. Its business life revolves around tourism and leisure: cafés and restaurants, holiday accommodation, the Bribie Island Surf Life Saving Club and the 18-hole Bribie Island Golf Club. Many local businesses are seasonal, with busy summers and holidays and quieter months in between.
Seasonal trade makes cash flow and BAS planning more important, not less. Debbie keeps your books current all year so the quiet months never bring a nasty surprise. Debbie works with businesses in every industry, including:
